Ask For Angela Launched into Gyms

We are thrilled to announce today that Safer Business Network, as one of the lead project partners along with ukactive, Sport England’s This-Girl-Can campaign, Mayor of London and Metropolitan Police have joined forces to launch a pilot of the ‘Ask for Angela’ campaign across 11 fitness and leisure centres in south west London.

Sites from both Lampton Leisure and Anytime Fitness have signed
up for the eight-week pilot to introduce the nationally recognised safety
campaign, which has previously been successful in the licensed retail sector
including pubs, bars, clubs and hotels to name a few.

The pilot will see an external evaluation agency capture the impact and learnings to understand how the Ask for Angela initiative performs in fitness and leisure facilities, and whether it is suitable for adoption UK wide within the sector.

Hannah Wadey added “We are delighted to be one of the leading partner organisations in developing the ‘Ask for Angela’ campaign and training adapted for the fitness and leisure sector. Safer Business Network has been instrumental raising awareness of the ‘Ask for Angela’ campaign across the licensed trade, and it is fantastic to see other industry sectors now adopting the safety campaign.”
