Women's Night Safety Charter

The WNSC Campaign is beginning to take shape. A Stakeholder Pack and Assets to support social media activity around the Charter will be circulated to signatories shortly, along with a registration link for the new on-line Toolkit resource. On 11th July, the first meeting of the WNSC Steering Group took place, with representatives from significant signatory sectors including the police, local authorities, BIDs, transport providers, hospitality, convenience stores and women’s groups. The Steering Group is chaired by Saskia Garner from the Suzy Lamplugh Trust, supported by Ada Liu from Capital Arches Group, and will oversee a full programme of work moving forward to support signatories. The first WNSC Networking Event since before the pandemic will take place on 29th September. Further details will be available in due course.

The number of signatories to the Charter continue to grow and currently sits at just under 1000. We are looking to hold local events to promote the Charter, highlight the current programme of work to support signatories, and encourage businesses to sign up. Our first event is being held in Brixton this month, in partnership with Brixton BID, the police Town Centre Team and the Council, and will also include WAVE training for local businesses. If any partners would be interested in holding a similar event in their local area do get in touch.safety-charter
