WAVE Training For Stratford's Night Time Economy
Safer Business Network and Safer Sounds have been featured on the Newham Council website after delivering Welfare and Vulnerability Engagement training to members of Stratford's licenced premises.
The training was organised by Newham Council and the Metropolitan Police, and delivered at Stratford's Vue Cinema, Westfield, with over 120 attendees including representatives from Stratford Original BID, Newham Council Licencing and the Met.
From the Safer Sounds website:
"Welfare And Vulnerability Engagement (WAVE) training is a package developed to provide those working in the licensed industry with an awareness of vulnerability, their responsibilities it and how to deal with it.
Safer Sounds delivers WAVE training on behalf on numerous organisations including the Metropolitan Police, Novus Leisure, Capital Arches Group and Heart of London Business Alliance."
The WAVE training package also includes direction on implementing the 'Ask for Angela' safety initiative that is being rolled out to bars, clubs and licenced businesses across London. People feeling uncomfortable or unsafe while visiting a premises can approach venue staff and ask for 'Angela' to receive discreet help from a trained member of staff; this could be help reuniting with friends, organising a safe method of transport home, or support calling the police.
