Two New Exclusion Notices Issued in Lewisham
The work of Safer Business Network takes many different forms, from disseminating business crime prevention tips and upskilling staff through webinars and training to projects and partnership work with Police and local authorities. One way in which we protect our business communities from criminal behaviour is through a civil Exclusion Notice scheme, and our BCRP in Lewisham is delighted to announce that this week it has been authorised to issue two prolific shoplifters with an Exclusion Notice.
An Exclusion Notice allows our BCRPs to withdraw the tacit permission of named individuals to enter private properties that are members of their community’s Business Crime Reduction Partnership. The Exclusion Notice period lasts for 12 months. This means that until the end of March 2022, the two individuals are banned from entering any Safer Lewisham BCRP member premises.
This amazing result was made possible through the amazing relationships and partnerships through the Lewisham community – intelligence collected from member businesses is compiled with support from the Met and Lewisham Shopping Centre to ensure that the most prolific offenders are identified and have action taken against them.
