Safer Business Network is a not-for-profit, private company operating business crime reduction partnerships (BCRPs) in a variety of locations in the capital. It works closely with the Metropolitan Police Service and local authorities to combat crime and anti-social behaviour that impact the profitability of businesses and the ‘look and feel’ of town centres.
This post will support the coordination of projects and initiatives to reduce business crime in the borough of Westminster. The post holder will be responsible for management of a large town link radio network [training will be provided], increasing membership of Business Crime Reduction Partnerships, intelligence gathering & analysis of information about offenders and crime patterns and its dissemination to members and other interested parties under the strict guidelines of the Data Protection Act 2018.

Main Purpose of Role:
To assist with the development of the business crime reduction partnership addressing the issues of both the day-time and evening/night-time economies
To grow and develop BCRP membership
To assist with the management of a Town Link Radio Scheme [training will be given]
To assist Business Crime Managers by taking responsibility for the analysis and dissemination of secure & data-sensitive information
Assist with the development of offender profiles, exclusion notice schemes and to promote new membership
To represent Partnerships at external meetings with stakeholders
Due to the sensitive nature of the role, it is a requirement that the successful applicant agrees to Disclosure Barring Service checks [previously Criminal Record Bureau] to ensure that he/she has no criminal convictions. Applicants with criminal records will not be considered for employment. Applicants must have at least 3 years’ worth of address history within the United Kingdom. If the successful staff member fails the vetting procedure, Safer Business Network will terminate their employment immediately.
Assist with the administration of a borough-wide radio network [no prior knowledge is needed, training will be given]
Collate incident data from scheme members relating to crime, disorder and anti-social behaviour and enter the data onto a bespoke database [experience of basic data entry would be an advantage]
Actively promote the scheme to businesses to increase membership numbers [‘selling’ the benefits of the scheme to potential members]. Experience in sales at any level would be an advantage
Delivering radio handsets to new members in their venues, training them in their use and completing membership paperwork
Dealing with problems and issues raised by members on a day-to-day basis which may require “thinking ion your feet”
Updating the Business Crime Reduction Partnership’s secure intranet [training will be given]
Gathering intelligence about the issues of concern to the business sector. This will include making visits to venues on a regular basis
Communicating relevant information on a variety of multi-media platforms
Attending stakeholder meetings and contributing intelligence to relevant partnerships

Salary: Starting salary of £23,000. Salary will increase to £25,300 upon successful completion of probation.
