Metal Theft - a problem for us all
The National Infrastructure Crime Reduction Partnership held its inaugural national event in Birmingham in June.
Power by Safer Business Network and funded via the Home Office and Network Rail, delegates from across the UK met with a common purpose, reduce infrastructure crime. Representatives of the telecommunications industry, power network, rail and transport providers, heritage, construction and agriculture were present along with law enforcement officers and the Home Office.
Our hosts for the day were BT Open Reach and the space was on the 17th floor of their brand-new building at Three Snowhill. The day was presided over by Sian Lloyd who managed the day and ensured proceedings flowed in a professional and precise manner.
The delegates listened to presentations from British Transport Police, Network Rail, The Joint Unit for Waste Crime, Centre for Infrastructure and Asset Protection, BT Open Reach and the National Business Crime Centre.
At the end of each presentation an opportunity to ask questions and at the end of the day, a final panel and a further chance to ask away.
The conversations continued over lunch and an opportunity to network following the event also took place.
A great first event, the first of many we hope and an opportunity to officially launch our partnership and celebrate the good work we have already achieved.
