First Exclusion Notice Issued in Stratford!
Without the close relationships we build through our work across 11 London boroughs, intelligence sharing and taking action against prolific offenders would be an impossible task - our business members are key in keeping the community connected. Our officers in Stratford have been working tirelessly over the past year to identify the main individuals committing crime and antisocial behaviour and affecting businesses across the town centre, and thanks to the detailed intelligence we have collected from our business community we have met grounds to issue our first Exclusion Notice to a prolific offender known for multiple incidents of theft from shop.
Our Exclusion Notice scheme issues civil bans to those causing regular disruption, withdrawing tacit permission to enter any business premises that is a member of our BCRP for a period of 12 months. Any breaches of this civil ban, when reported to us, can be used as evidence for police to escalate this enforcement to a Community Protection Warning (CPW), and over the next year we will be working hard to promote to security officers and business staff the importance of reporting these incidents.
