Tackling knife crime - we all have a part to play
Safer Business Network has always been aware of our role to upskill our members around the responsible sale of knives which we have been doing locally for some time, so we were delighted to support the official launch of MOPACs knife retail toolkit this month.
This toolkit is a pack of training resources for businesses in carrying out their legal responsibilities when it comes to selling knives and includes guidance on the voluntary best practice agreement and other good practice guidance. Our local schemes will be reviewing our procedures to ensure they compliment this new guidance.
Locally, we are working with For Jimmy to roll out Safe Havens for young people at risk, we offer training around deescalating violent situations and we always encourage our members to store and sell knifes in a safe manner.
Safer Business Network Training offers a range of short, cost effective training opportunites which can support you to keep your town centre or venue safe. If you would like to work with us to roll this out across your business area, please get in touch.
